In my day, only top level employees were asked to sign non-compete agreements. Okay, so my day was like a month ago…but times are changing! Employers are asking more and more employees to prove their loyalty with non-competes, but is that a good thing?

Over the years we have heard a lot of strange ADA claims, but a recent case caught our attention as employers, as employees, and as people. In this particular case an individual received disability benefits because they were unable to speak English well. INTRIGUING.

It’s no news to you (I hope) that as of July 1 Massachusetts employers are required to provide paid sick leave. Don’t worry if that’s all you know! The Attorney General just released some more deets on what this all means — like who is considered an “employer” and what is classified as “leave.”

A while back, New York legalized the use of medical marijuana…and they are just now getting around to telling us exactly what that means. One thing it doesn’t mean: smoking! Users must consume only non-smokable forms of marijuana — either to be ingested or vaporized. So…vape em if you got em I guess?
