Repeat Presentation - COVID-19 Update for Employers: Employee Benefits and Compensation Issues

Presented by Jessica Kuester, Ruth Anne Collins Michels, Catherine R. Reese, and Jason A. Rothman at Ogletree Deakins

Many employers have already dealt with the immediate concerns of providing health coverage during leaves of absence relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and removing barriers to testing and treatment. Join this webinar for a discussion of the next phase of benefits and compensation issues facing employers. Topics will include the long-term impact on health coverage; the potential loss of other benefits coverage; the impact on retirement benefits and access to retirement funds; telecommuting-related payroll and income tax questions; and employees’ access to emergency funds. We will also discuss what employers should consider when planning for extended furloughs and layoffs, voluntary severance programs, and reductions in force. Finally, we will address other issues that may arise as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, including deferred compensation and severance triggers that may impact employer cash flow.
