About

Ms. Back has been a member of the Oregon Bar and practiced in the areas of Labor and Employment and General Litigation since 1991. Ms. Back is a member of the Manufacturing and Technology industry groups at her firm and assists employers in all aspects of managing their employment relationships, including drafting employment agreements, and employment manuals, providing supervisor and employee training, assisting employers in handling employee grievances and discrimination or anti-harassment complaints, managing terminations and reductions-in-force, and advising employers about their obligations under state and federal laws. Ms. Back is particularly knowledgeable on the interaction of an employee’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Workers’ Compensation Act, and state and federal Family and Pregnancy Leave laws. Ms. Back also has worked with other members of the Labor and Employment practice group as part of a team representing employers in large wage and hour class action matters. Ms. Back has been a regular speaker to Oregon and Washington employers on a variety of employment topics.

Ms. Back is also a member of Schwabe’s Privacy Law group and advises employers and speaks regularly on risk management and privacy issues related to social networking.

In addition to the Oregon State Bar, Ms. Back is also a member of the Washington State Bar and licensed to practice in the U.S. Federal District Courts of Oregon and Washington, and she is licensed to appear before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
